War of words between Farah Khan and Ganesh Hegde isn’t seeing any sign of getting over soon. Even though initially Farah had decided to shrug away comments coming her way from Ganesh, she has now decided that ‘enough is enough’.
“It is strange to see the way Ganesh is going all out against her in print. There is a limit to anything. In fact it is surprising that Farah kept it all low profile and didn’t quite pay much heed to what Ganesh had to say. However, for how long can one just stay put? She now truly believes that Ganesh should put an end to this all. The more he is speaking about this, the more harm he is doing to himself. It shows his frustration”, says a close associate of Farah.
For the uninitiated, the entire trigger point was the ‘big news’ about Ganesh ‘replacing’ Farah for the choreographing songs in Ra.Onewhich features Shah Rukh Khan. Though the ‘badshah’ earlier swore by Farah, their strained personal relationship during last couple of years meant that professionally too they had to distance themselves. On her part though Farah has maintained that she was never doing Ra.One in the first place. Another dig that Ganesh had made on Farah was about being just a token choreographer as now her assistants teach all the dance steps to the actors as she takes the back seat.
“Come on, which world are we living in”, says Farah in an amused tone, “I have moved on to directing as well as producing films. In fact I would also be acting soon. I am hardly choreographing songs anymore. As for teaching someone ‘how and what to dance’ then sorry, this is something that I have been doing professionally for 25 years now. You move on to bigger things when you climb up the ladder, isn’t it?”
Continuing in the same vein, Farah adds, “When you gain experience in choreography, you start concentrating on the overall visuals in addition to getting dancers to come together on the floors. You don’t start interacting with each and everyone of them and teach them dance steps. It is for this reason why you have assistants.”
Not quite willing to take things lying down anymore, Farah jokes, “Isn’t that something that you do in every profession by the way? If you are a builder then you don’t start moving construction material from one place to another. You ensure that the building has come up right. Similarly I too am happy being a filmmaker. I have no intentions to dance and show my skills to anyone. If anyone out there is inclined to show his dancing skills despite being in the industry for so long then he is free to do that. If you are a fabulous dancer then show it to the entire world. No one stops you from doing that, right?”
