Dhurandhar The Revenge releases in a few days, and as expected, the excitement is tremendous worldwide. However, just like the first part – Dhurandhar (2025) – the sequel won’t find a release in the UAE-GCC belt. Over the past few months, Bollywood Hungama has consistently reported on this aspect.

Explained: How Dhurandhar part 1 and 2’s UAE-GCC ban could cost as much as lifetime numbers of Ghajini, Stree, Gangubai Kathiawadi

In December 2025, we spoke to Suniel Wadhwa, co-founder and director at film production and distribution firm Karmic Films. He went through historical data to arrive at a conclusion, “Animal was released in the first week of December 2023 and Pushpa 2 in the first week of December 2024. Animal collected 4.2 million USD in the UAE, which is equivalent to Rs. 36 crores if we can take the dollar rate of Rs. 83. Pushpa 2 in Hindi had earned around 3.5 million USD there. If we take a dollar rate of Rs. 86, that comes to around Rs. 30 crores.”

He continued, “Taking this data into account, since Dhurandhar was released in the first week of December 2025 and with the dollar rate being around Rs. 90 at present, we can safely say that it would have done around Rs. 45-50 crores in the UAE. GCC would have contributed 10% more, so the final figure comes to around Rs. 55 crores.”

Meanwhile, the sequel is expected to do even better, considering the craze and the way the tickets are being snapped up like hot cakes despite the premium pricing. Recently, Bollywood Hungama spoke to an industry insider who commented, “Dhurandhar would have earned around 6 million USD from the UAE GCC. With Dhurandhar The Revenge expected to do much more, one can presume that it would have earned 7-8 million USD in the Gulf.”

If Dhurandhar The Revenge had earned 7 million USD (Rs. 64.70 crores) from the UAE-GCC belt, then the two-part franchise would have ended up missing out on nearly Rs. 120 crores from the region. In other words, the Gulf loss alone would have been equivalent to the lifetime collections of films like Jab Tak Hai Jaan (Rs. 120.85 crores), Ready (Rs. 119.78 crores) and Tubelight (Rs. 119.26 crores), and even slightly higher than the total net collections of Ranveer Singh’s Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (Rs. 116.33 crores), Agneepath (Rs. 115 crores) and Ghajini (Rs. 114 crores).

If one assumes that Dhurandhar The Revenge could have collected 8 million USD (Rs. 74 crores) from the UAE-GCC belt, then the combined missed opportunity for both parts would rise to nearly Rs. 129 crores. That is equivalent to the lifetime collections of films like Stree (Rs. 129.90 crores) and Gangubai Kathiawadi (Rs. 129.10 crores).

Despite the enormity of these numbers, Dhurandhar’s producers – Jio Studios and B62 Studios – have little reason to worry. The historic box office run of the first part more than compensated for the Gulf loss. Dhurandhar had ended its worldwide run at a staggering Rs. 1350.2 crores, and the sequel is expected to surpass that figure.
