Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh has heaped praise on Shah Rukh Khan, asserting that the actor is "the mega force at the box office." In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Adarsh said that he was "blown away" by the prevue of Khan's upcoming film, Jawan. He also dismissed criticism that the prevue did not reveal much about the film's plot.
It all started with Taran Adarsh saying, "I genuinely feel that 2023 belongs to Shah Rukh Khan," Adarsh said. "He is not just number one; he is numbers 1 to 5. Today, he is the Badshah (Emperor), the king, the emperor, or whatever you want to call him. Shah Rukh Khan is THE mega force at the box office. No other actor even comes close to him, and this bitter truth applies to all other actors. They need to accept it, and so do their fandoms."
He continued, “The business Pathaan has done, the upcoming opening of Jawan will be historic and earth-shattering, as we call it in the film industry.”
Speaking of receiving a text from someone from the industry, Adarsh added, “I replied back, asking them if Shah Rukh Khan will reveal the entire film's plot in just 2 minutes or narrate the whole story. For that, you have to go to the theatre and spend money on your ticket to watch the film. What does a trailer mean? It means giving you a glimpse, not revealing the entire film.”
"If you want to watch the movie, then wait until September 7, go to the theatre, watch it, and then criticise whether it has a story or not," Adarsh said. "Until then, please keep your opinions to yourselves."
Helmed by Atlee Kumar, Jawan also stars Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara.
