Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu, renowned for her versatile roles, recently graced the screen alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the Rajkumar Hirani directorial Dunki. The film amassed a Rs. 203.27 crore at the box office. However, the actress confesses to initial disbelief upon signing the project.

Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Taapsee Pannu recently said, “Everybody isn’t like Rajkumar Hirani sir. He doesn’t necessarily need that comfort zone. He texted me out of the blue after watching Manmarziyaan. After watching a lot of my films, purely on merit, he reached out to me for Dunki. It was too good to be true which is why I didn’t believe it till the first schedule of the film got over. People would ask me at home, ‘Tu picture mein hai na? Nikal toh nahi diya tujhe? (You are in the film right? They didn’t kick you out?).”

She added, “In fact, one-and-a-half years before the film went on floors, people were telling me that Raju sir might be looking at some other actors, nothing came from Raju sir though, he was sure about me. So, it was difficult for me to settle down and accept that I am doing this film.”

On the work front, Taapsee Pannu will next star in the comedy-drama film, Woh Ladki Hai Kahan. The movie is written and directed by Arshad Syed. It also stars Pratik Gandhi and Prateik Babbar. She also is starring in Haseen Dillruba sequel, Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba, alongside Vikrant Massey, Sunny Kaushal, and Jimmy Shergill.
