Season 3 of Kanikka Kapur’s web series ImMature recently started streaming on Amazon Prime Video. She was previously seen in Rajshri Productions’ Dono, where she played the pivotal role of the former love interest of Rajveer Deol, son of Sunny Deol who made his big screen debut with the film. The movie also marked the debut for Paloma.

During the shoot of Dono, Kanikka had a pleasant experience with Sunny. The young actress had met the Gadar star before too. “I had met him in the past once. I had auditioned for Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, which starred his elder son Karan Deol and I was a part of the top 5 shortlisted candidates. I had met him for a little while when it was our final screen test,” she said in an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama.

When Kanikka was about to meet Sunny during the shoot of Dono, she didn’t expect him to remember her. “I obviously thought that he won’t remember me as it was a very short meeting and that too years ago,” she said. “When I met him for the first time during Dono’s shoot was when we were shooting the wedding sequence in Thailand. Rajveer had told us that his whole family will come down and stay for a few days with him.”

Kanikka’s meeting with Sunny Deol happened unexpectedly. “One day when we packed up early, we were walking on the nearby beach. We then saw Rajveer and his whole family walking towards us. So we all got a little nervous. We were all preparing to introduce ourselves and meet them.”

She added, “When I met him (Sunny), I said I don’t know if you remember me sir but I am Kanikka. But he actually remembered me, which was very surprising. It was actually very thoughtful and sweet of him to remember me. He said, ‘No no beta, of course I remember you.’ He was very sweet and humble. It was a lot of fun meeting him. His whole family has this respect and warmth with which they talk to you.”

As far as Rajveer Deol is concerned, Kanikka felt he is the same as his character in Dono. “In real life, he is the same as his character. He is a little shy and reserved initially. But he is extremely respectful and his sense of humour is lovely. He is very accommodating if you wish to change something in a scene or if you suggest something,” she said.

Kanikka was also impressed with Rajveer’s professionalism despite it being his first film. “We had an early morning shoot,” she recalled. “But he also had a shoot the previous night. He had not slept at all. It was majorly his chunk of shoot but I had to hear him. I could see in his eyes how tired he was. He had to perform his scene very well because it was his monologue. But when I had to react, he still gave me the right kind of cues in the right energy, so that my reactions come out well, which was very sweet of him.”
