The year 2021 was full of success for Sidharth Malhotra. The actor received accolades, positive response, and numerous praises for his portrayal of martyr Captain Vikram Batra in his biopic, Shershaah. The film also starred Kiara Advani opposite Sidharth. He really has come a long way since his debut in Student Of The Year. The film was released in October 2012 and the actor will complete 10 years on October 19. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, the actor reflected on his 10 years in the industry, and his career and made some interesting revelations.
In the rapid-fire segment, when asked the best thing that came out of Shershaah, the actor said, “I mean, the most emotional and the thing that I was very nervous about was to see Captain Vikram Batra and his family be happy and proud and give me their blessings after seeing the film.”
Shershaah is a story of valour, love, and sacrifice, inspired by the life of Captain Vikram Batra (PVC). The film celebrates his valiant spirit and honors his invaluable sacrifice in the Kargil War of 1999. Staying true to his codename ‘Shershaah’, Captain Batra’s valiant fight and ultimate sacrifice were instrumental in India’s victory.
Directed by Vishnu Varadhan and jointly produced by Dharma Productions and Kaash Entertainment, Shershaah stars Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in lead roles, and Shiv Panditt, Raj Arjun, Pranay Pachauri, Himmanshu Ashok Malhotra, Nikitin Dheer, Ankita Goraya, Anil Charanjeett, Sahil Vaid, Shataf Figar, and Pawan Chopra in pivotal roles.
On the work front, Sidharth Malhotra will be seen in Ajay Devgn-starrer Thank God, which also features Rakul Preet Singh. The film releases on October 25, 2022. He also has Mission Majnu with Rashmika Mandanna, Yodha with Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna and Rohit Shetty’s Indian Police Force with Shilpa Shetty, Vivek Oberoi. All projects are slated for 2023 release, respectively.
