EXCLUSIVE: Shehzada debutant Debattama Saha calls director Rohit Dhawan “amazing human being”; says co-star Paresh Rawal is “the king of improvisations” : Bollywood News

Popular TV actress Debattama Saha started her acting career with a Bengali TV serial. Later, in 2019, she played the lead in Sony TV’s show Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein. However, it was Star Plus’ 2020 Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahaani, which made her a household name. And now, the actress has graced the silver screen as well with her debut film, Shehzada. In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Debattama Saha shared her experience of working with the stellar cast while lauding director Rohit Dhawan and co-star Paresh Rawal.

While talking about her debut film and sharing her feeling about working with its star cast, which includes Manisha Koirala, Ronit Roy, and Sachin Khedekar, besides Kartik and Kriti, she said, “I won't say fear but nervousness because it feels when you know the entire cast to a different level. My emotions were getting magnified 13 times. I was like nervous but I was excited as happy so it was all a mixture of emotions. Thankfully, I had Rohit Dhawan to guide me and I was so thankful that I got to start my work with him because he is an amazing human being.”

Speaking of her experience of sharing the screen space with legendary actor Paresh Rawal, who is her on-screen father in Shehzada, Saha said, “He is the king of improvisations. In every scene of him, he add two or three lines, which were so funny. I try not to laugh I was trying to control my laugh but he was very humble and overall it was really nice.”

When asked about her future plans and journey post Shehzada’s release, Debattama asserted, “My journey would be onwards and upwards I can say. I will just try to give my best. I don't know what comes next. To be very frank. I don't know whether it is a movie or a television show or w web series. But all I can say is that as an actor overall, I'm going to give my best. I will try to do justice to whatever roles I will get.”

Talking about Shehzada, the Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer was released on February 17.
