Shanaya Kapoor has been receiving rave reviews for her performance in the recently-released survival drama Tu Yaa Main. Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, the film stars Adarsh Gourav opposite her.
Shanaya will next be seen in director Shujaat Saudagar’s JC. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, the filmmaker expressed his excitement at the film nearing its completion. “I am really excited about JC,” said Shujaat. “It’s coming together really well and I can’t wait for the audiences to watch that. It’s a theatrical release, which we will be announcing very soon this month, in terms of the release date.”
Shujaat is all praise for Shanaya and her method of working in the film. “She is a fantastic actor,” he said. “She is extremely dedicated and hard-working. From my personal experience, it was a pleasure working with her because she is very intricate when it comes to the detailing of the character. And the kind of prep work that she put into JC, it was a pleasure. She is really someone to watch out for. I think she is really gifted as an actor and a lovely person to work with.”
When asked his take on Tu Yaa Main, Shujaat said, “I really enjoyed Tu Yaa Main. I enjoyed her performance and Gourav’s. Both of them were really terrific in the film.”
JC also stars Abhay Verma, who is known for his stint in the horror-comedy Munjya and the second season of Amazon Prime Video’s web show The Family Man.
Shujaat Saudagar has been in the news currently along with his partner Vikesh Bhutani for their Manipuri production Boong winning the Best Children’s & Family Movie at BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) in London.
