EXCLUSIVE: When Shalini Pandey had a text banter with ‘Junaid’s Dad’ Aamir Khan; latter responded to her saying, “I am your uncle”

Shalini Pandey, who received immense love and fame for her role as the innocent Kishori in the courtroom drama Maharaj, not only shared her experience of working with Junaid Khan but she also recalled a funny incident she had with Aamir Khan. Readers would be aware that Junaid is Aamir Khan’s son eldest son with wife Reena Dutta. The actress, in an exclusive conversation with a series of her co-actors at the Bollywood Hungama Roundtable 2024, confessed about her fun banter with the ‘sweet’ Aamir Khan ahead of the Maharaj success bash.

During this BH Roundtable 2024, as actresses discussed their journey in the entertainment industry, Nitanshi Goel opened up about her first experience of interacting with Aamir Khan as she worked with the latter in his production Laapataa Ladies which was directed by Khan’s ex-wife Kiran Rao. After she shared her experience, Shalini Pandey recalled her text messages with Aamir Khan where she was just casually asking her friend and co-star Junaid Khan about a party they were supposed to attend together (the Maharaj success bash). “You know, one day he (Aamir Khan) texted me.” She elaborated on the story saying, “I worked with Junaid. And now ere were friends. So, I was supposed to go to a party. He texted me asking, ‘Are you coming to the party?’ I didn’t know and I was like, ‘Who's this’? and he was like, ‘I am Junaid’s dad’”.

The actress confessed that she went a little blank and didn’t remember who Junaid’s dad was. “‘Who’s Junaid's dad?' Then I was like oh! He said, ‘Aamir Khan!’" When she went on to apologize, Khan told her that he was ‘like her uncle’. “I said, ‘Sorry Sir!’ He started laughing and was like no, no… ‘Of course I am your uncle, I am Junaid’s dad!' The way I asked because, for a minute, I forgot who is Junaid's dad. Then I realized it is Aamir Khan!” Shalini revealed as she left others at the table in splits.

The BH Roundtable 2024 featured actresses like Aditi Rao Hydari, Nitanshi Goel, Triptii Dimri, Shalini Pandey, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday who discussed many aspects of their professional life.
