Following the OTT release of the war biopic Sam Bahadur on ZEE5, actress Sanya Malhotra recently shared her experiences and insights from playing this pivotal role. For the unversed, she portrayed Silloo Manekshaw, the wife of the titular character.

Explaining her preparation, Malhotra recalled doing extensive research to understand Silloo's life and personality. "To prepare for my role as Silloo Manekshaw, I delved into extensive research, studying her life, and understanding the nuances of her character. What intrigued me the most was her resilience and unwavering support for Sam Manekshaw during challenging times," she revealed.

Through her research and portrayal, Malhotra gained valuable insights into military families. "Researching and portraying Silloo Manekshaw provided valuable insights into the sacrifices and challenges that military families face. It gave me a profound understanding of the strength and sacrifices that accompany such a lifestyle," she noted.

Stepping into Silloo's shoes presented distinct challenges, given the different era and background. Malhotra said, "Playing a character from a different era and background presented challenges, but it was also an exciting opportunity for me to develop as an actor. The authenticity in the portrayal of that character was crucial, requiring attention to historical details."
