Veteran film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh has said that Shah Rukh Khan's film Jawan has become a "storm" at the box office. He made the comments in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, where he discussed the box office performance of the film. He said that the film had grossed Rs. 65 crores on its opening day, which is the lifetime collection of many films.
Adarsh said that the postponement of Prabhas's film Salaar was a good thing for Jawan. He said that Salaar would have eaten into the business of Jawan at the mass circuits, as it is an out-and-out action film.
"Jawan ko three weeks ka hi run milta," Adarsh said. "But ab Jawan ke liye khula maidan hai. Ab woh sher daudega." This translates to: "Jawan would have only had a three-week run. But now Jawan has a clear field. Now it will run like a lion."
Produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and directed by Atlee Kumar, Jawan also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra, Priya Mani, among others.
