The much talked about film, RRR, directed by S S Rajamouli, was finally released on March 25. Starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead, this Telugu film got a wide release in Hindi, just like Rajamouli’s earlier Baahubali films. And as expected, the film emerged as a huge hit, thanks to a terrific word of mouth. Even in the Telugu version, RRR has put up fantastic numbers.

Jayantilal Gada, of PEN India Ltd, who holds the Hindi and digital and satellite rights of RRR, is obviously quite happy with the box office performance. He recently threw a success bash which was attended not just by the film’s team, but also by superstar Aamir Khan.

In an earlier interaction with Bollywood Hungama, Jayantilal Gada had exclusively revealed that the makers are in talks to release RRR on a pay-per-view platform. According to him, the movie will be available on PVOD just before its OTT premiere, which is expected to happen 75 to 90 days after its release in cinemas.

Recently, Bollywood Hungama had another exclusive interaction with Jayantilal. When asked what’s the status of this plan, he said, “Yes, the plan is indeed on. Our discussion is going on.”

Meanwhile, Jayantilal Gada gave another significant piece of news, “RRR has created history. We have sold the Hindi digital rights to Netflix and that of the 4 South languages to Zee5. The Hindi satellite rights rest with Zee Cinema and that of the 4 South languages with Star Network.”

He further added, “Not just that, it is the first Indian film to be dubbed in minimum 50 languages across the world! After the dubbing is done in these languages, it’ll be out on satellite and digital in those territories.”

Meanwhile, RRR in Hindi has managed to collect Rs. 240.49 crore till Wednesday, April 13. It now remains to be seen whether it can sustain the gigantic KGF - Chapter 2 wave at the box office.
