EXCLUSIVE: “I romanced Rajkummar Rao in Badhaai Do but we are bashing up each other in Guns & Gulaabs,” reveals Gulshan Devaiah : Bollywood News

Filmmaker Harshvardhan Kulkarni’s Badhaai Do had an unusual story of a gay individual marrying a lesbian. The film received a lot of critical acclaim when it had released in 2021. It saw Rajkummar Rao’s character in relationship with the one played by Gulshan Devaiah.

Devaiah and Rajkummar will next be seen together in Raj and DK’s web series Guns & Gulaabs. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Deviah said that he and Rajkummar will be doing the opposite of what they did in Badhaai Do. “I enjoyed working again with Rajkummar Rao. In Badhaai Do, I was romancing him. Here we are bashing up each other,” he said with a laugh.

Devaiah had a pleasant experience with Raj and DK too. “It was excellent (working with them). They gave me a lot of freedom. I felt so empowered. My character is quite ut pataang (weird) in the show. I won’t be able to reveal much. Raj and DK have a whacky and crazy sense of humour. I enjoyed shooting in the cold of Dehradun,” said the Hunterrr actor.

Guns & Gulaabs also stars Dulquer Salmaan, Adarsh Gourav and Pooja Gor. The show will be streamed on Netflix later this year.

Devaiah is currently receiving rave reviews for his performance in the recently released Amazon Prime Video web series Dahaad, which also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Vijay Varma and Sohum Shah.

The actor started off his journey more than a decade ago. When asked how he looks back at his career so far, he said, “It has been very satisfying. Ever since my childhood it was my dream to work in Hindi films. I am living that dream. I have no reason to complain. I am very happy. Though a few things could have been better but woh sab life mein chalta hai yaar (all that keeps going on in life).”
