More than just a crime thriller, Kanneda explores themes of survival and identity in a world driven by power struggles. The series weaves a complex narrative, with its characters navigating unpredictable twists and turns, making it a gripping watch. Ranvir Shorey, who plays Bajwa, shares insights into his layered and intriguing role, adding depth to the intense storyline.

Commenting on how the show sticks to its theme, Ranvir said, “Crime and politics has been explored a lot in our medium via long and short format shows. But what makes our show unique is that Kanneda explores the connection of crime and politics from an immigration perspective and that makes it very fresh and exciting along with a new kind of exploration.”

Adding to the challenging experience, he shared, “My character in the story is somebody who is older in the immigration game and has been there for a while. He knows the ropes, ins and outs of not just immigration but also how to hack into the system of the new place where he is immigrated. I think my character provides more of a backdrop for the socio-political backdrop of immigrants in the story, it’s a great part and a great arc.”

Ranvir Shorey brings Bajwa to life in Kanneda, portraying the struggles of Punjabi immigrants as they navigate the challenges of building a life abroad. His performance offers a raw and compelling look into the complex realities of immigration, adding depth to the series' gripping narrative.
