EXCLUSIVE: Producer Shital Bhatia confirms that Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha will release in June or July; says that Maidaan’s debacle doesn’t worry him: “Before Maidaan, Shaitaan and Drishyam 2 did very well. Ups and downs keep happening”

Ajay Devgn is on a roll and is all set to have five releases in 2024. Two of them are already out – the supernatural thriller Shaitaan and the acclaimed sports biopic Maidaan. Now his next film would be Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha. It marks his first collaboration with Neeraj Pandey and according to producer Shreyans Hirawat of NH Studioz, it is a romantic thriller and though it has action, it won’t be a “typical Neeraj Pandey film”. Reportedly, it is a love story that spans 19-20 years, from 2002 to 2023. Jimmy Sheirgill and Saiee Manjrekar also star in this flick. The film’s music is composed by Oscar-winning music director M M Keeravani.

Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha was all set to release on April 26 but there were reports that it would be pushed. Bollywood Hungama exclusively spoke to Shital Bhatia, of Friday Filmworks, who is producing Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha. When asked when the film will be out, he said, “We’ll most probably come in June or July. We have shifted the date from April 26. Very soon, we’ll make the announcement.”

There’s a curiosity surrounding the film as Neeraj Pandey has never explored this genre before. The veteran producer smiled and stated, “Fingers crossed. We have tried our best. Let’s see how the audience reacts to it.”

While Shaitaan was a super-hit, Maidaan has bombed badly despite terrific word of mouth. Trade experts often remark that the last film’s performance can affect an actor’s next project.

When asked if Maidaan’s debacle worries him, Shital Bhatia retorted, “Why would you say that? There was a film before Maidaan, Shaitaan, which did very well. Before that, Drishaym 2 (2022) did very well too. Ups and downs keep happening.”

He added, “I have heard that Maidaan is a brilliant film. It was released just 5 days back. Give it some time. I also heard that it’s a word-of-mouth film and will travel long distances.”

After Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, Ajay Devgn will be seen next in the much-awaited action entertainer Singham Again followed by Raid 2.
