During a fun chat with Bollywood Hungama, when asked which film each would like to do from the other’s filmography, Nawazuddin and Ayushmann’s answer was as unexpected as it was entertaining.

Without missing a beat, Ayushmann said, “Gangs of Wasseypur and Raman Raghav.” The irony was instant — both films were directed by Anurag Kashyap, who famously directed Nawaz himself in those exact roles! The room erupted in laughter.

Nawazuddin quickly joined in the fun, suggesting, “Andhadhun. Andhadhun, my God!” he exclaimed. When asked if he’d like to add his own spin to the film, Nawaz smiled, “Of course, what a character he played.”

The mutual respect was evident. Ayushmann, in turn, admitted that audiences still frequently bring up Andhadhun, Article 15, and An Action Hero. “Everybody comes back to Andhadhun, Article 15. These two are talked about. Nowadays they also talk about Action Hero. That picture is of course very close to my heart,” he shared.

The light-hearted exchange between two of Hindi cinema’s most intense actors proves one thing — behind their layered, serious performances lies a shared love for storytelling, admiration, and just the right touch of humour.

Currently, both actors are basking in the success of their recent release Thamma, a horror comedy that has brought them together on screen for the first time. The film, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Paresh Rawal, has been receiving positive responses from audiences for its unique blend of scares and humour. Their off-screen camaraderie, as seen in interviews like this one, has only added to the charm of their on-screen chemistry in Thamma.
