EXCLUSIVE: Liger star Vijay Deverakonda on how he deals with the pressure of promoting his films – “There are films you feel really strong about” : Bollywood News

Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda is currently gearing up for the release of his Pan-India film Liger, in which he stars opposite Bollywood actress Ananya Panday. The actor sat for an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama with his co-star, talked about his upcoming film and how he dealt with the pressure of promoting it.

When asked if he is having a good time promoting his upcoming mass film around the country, Vijay replied, “Yes, it's fun. I was stressed initially. There are films you feel really strong about. I have declared it [films] a blockbuster once, even before I started promoting it. I start saying it out loud. This is one of those films. I've done it before when I released Arjun Ready, I started calling it a blockbuster because I felt it was. But then I felt then, again I feel the pressure now because you say it out loud much. I was kind of feeling the pressure.”

“But then since two days, I’ve just decided to enjoy it,” he continued. “You are going to all these places, all these cities and I was going with the mindset of introducing myself. I was like ‘I have to go to Bihar and I have to introduce myself like I am Vijay Deverakonda and I'm from Hyderabad. I have worked on this film called Liger, do watch.’ And suddenly you are going to these cities and people are shouting your name and then you are just like ‘What the hell, what’s happening. And then at one point I just decided that ‘Now this tour or the next 20 days is about meeting people for me.”

“It’s just about talking to people, meeting students and that's it. It's less of a promotion and more like socializing,” he added.

Liger will see South actor Vijay Deverakonda play the role of an underdog boxer who makes his way to international fame. The movie will also feature a cameo of former American professional boxer Mike Tyson. Helmed by Puri Jagannadh, the movie will arrive in theatres on August 25.
