Kubbra Sait received numerous accolades for her portrayal of DCP Parveen Sheikh in the recently released web series, Sankalp. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, the talented and vivacious Kubbra spoke about Sankalp and a lot more.
When asked what else she has in her pipeline, she replied, “We have announced Farzi’s second season. That’s another big-ticket item for me this year. So, I have some good things lined up. I also have my own creative projects, which I’ll talk about when we are ready. I am happy with the way the year is progressing and also about the fact that I don’t need to go about introducing myself (laughs)!”
Kubbra’s USP is that she always greets her friends and loved ones with extreme warmth. It immediately gives one a déjà vu of Ranveer Singh. When asked if she has been compared with the powerhouse actor, Kubbra’s eyes lit up and she said, “I love that! It has happened a lot of times and I take it as a supreme compliment. I think we got to see a personality like Ranveer Singh for the first time in our generation of actors. He was so comfortable being himself and being in his skin and he continues to be so. He’s unapologetic, extremely brave and unafraid. And he’s also a sensitive man. Moreover, he’s a friend who stays in touch. He’ll reach out and he shows up for people he loves. Every time I meet Ranveer Singh, I feel like he puts other people before himself. So, he teaches us all to be a little better (smiles).”
Has she seen Dhurandhar The Revenge, featuring Ranveer Singh in arguably his best performance to date? Kubbra replied, “I have yet to watch it. But of course, I watched the first part in the theatre. Nobody came with me and so, I went and watched it alone. I can’t wait to watch the sequel on the big screen as well. In fact, my mum’s coming down. So, maybe, I can watch the film with her; I’ll plan an evening or day out for us (smiles).”
