The entire social media is currently in frenzy as #AbhiRa fans rooting for the lead couple Abhimanyu Birla (Harshad Chopda) and Akshara Goenka (Pranali Rathod) are expressing their happiness over the end of the character Abhinav (Jai Soni). It seems that Abhinav, who allegedly came between Abhimanyu and Akshara after their separation, left many disappointed as they couldn’t see the distance between their favourite couple. On the other hand, the exit of Jay Soni has left his fans so disappointed that many of them have expressed their sadness over his track ending. Jay discussed with Bollywood Hungama, about such diverse reactions coming from social media along with how he feels about exiting Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
Speaking about the negative reactions he has been receiving from social media, Jay Soni maintained that he likes to focus on his work. “This had happened initially as well. But then what can I really do. Should I quit my acting or my work? I am only doing my work and just focusing on giving a good performance and leaving the rest up to the audience.” He continued, “Had I given it focus, I wouldn't have been able to perform to that extent. I have started ignoring it. At the end of the day, everyone has different opinions, and I can’t change it. I can try to give my best performance, otherwise I can't do much about it,” Jay told Bollywood Hungama.
When asked if it affects him, he went on to add, “For a few minutes it does affect but then later, it feels like it’s a new day with new thoughts and we try to get back to life. I have a family to run. I can't think of trollers and sit at home and do nothing and not act. I have to please my writers, my directors my producer.”
He further went on to speak about his fans who constantly shower their love on him adding, “There are people, audience who love my performance. So, agar main troll ka sunta raha toh unke liye aur show ke liye perform kaise karunga (if I listen to the trollers, how will I perform for them and the show?),” he quizzed.
On the other hand, Jay also gave a heartfelt message to his fans who are expressing their desire to watch him once again. “I'm getting like so many messages and I don't know what to tell them. They say ‘Jay we are so used to seeing you on TV - a good actor, a good performer, a very positive vibe we get from you’. I want to tell them I'll come back soon,” he maintained.
In the interview, he also expressed how he has been feeling now that he is exiting the show and all the things he will be missing. “Everything I will miss. I will miss the production house. It is the best production house to work with and of course, Rajan Sir. I am really impressed by Rajan Sir, the way he treats their people, the crew, the team, the actors and seeing their dedication, you get also charged. I will definitely miss Abhinav a lot because I have loved performing him. I have explored his different shades. As an actor it's so much fun to get up in the morning and go to the sets, people appreciating me! I will miss that definitely because TV is something where you may or may not get to perform. But I must say this was the best and I will miss my and Abhir’s (Shreyansh Kaurav) chemistry because those are very domestic and real scenes,” concluded Soni.
