She also said that not everyone can give a hit each time, and she felt that it seemed to have let down a lot of people when her films didn’t work.

Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel is currently promoting Gadar 2. The actress, who made her debut with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, has witnessed her fair share of ups and downs in her career. The actress saw success very early on in her career but she did not let it get to her. She also said that not everyone can give a hit each time, and she felt that it seemed to have let down a lot of people when her films didn’t work.

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Ameesha Patel said that she did not let failure or success get to her. “I told myself from day one that I wouldn’t let success or failure, both, get to my head because life can go either way. Success can destroy you and so can failure. I was very level-headed from a very young age because I got a lot of male attention growing up; I was also excellent in school – all-rounder, head girl and then valedictorian and then gold medalist. I had a lot of male attention throughout my career and as well as academic attention. There were jobs outside that were always coming my way because my resume just showed it. But, I always just said that ‘Ameesha, no matter what? You keep your feet on the ground because it can disappear like that.’ I brought that same discipline of working hard and letting the fruits of my hard work that I have achieved, be underplayed,” she said.

“I think that the hard part about achieving success so fast or early on, I mean in your first, second and third films, was that people set your own bar of success too high. Like how can every film be a Gadar? or Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai? How can every Telugu release be a Badri? It’s impossible for one actor or actress to give the biggest hit of that year, every year. A Shah Rukh Khan cannot do it, an Amitabh Bachchan can’t do it, a Rajinikanth can’t do it, no one can do it. So the expectations people put on me became hard. When I couldn’t match them, that’s when they felt let down. I feel somewhere even my audiences felt let down. When I wanted to experiment with roles that may be lesser in quantity on the screen but of value to me because I wanted to experiment, they were not happy. But, you don’t always get tailor-made Humraaz or Sakeena roles,” the actress added.

Meanwhile, Ameesha Patel is now gearing up for the release of Gadar 2, a sequel to Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Produced by Zee Studios and helmed by Director-Producer Anil Sharma, the movie stars Sunny Deol, and Utkarsh Sharma. The movie is slated to release in cinemas on 11th August 2023.
