Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel is currently promoting Gadar 2. The actress, who made her debut with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, has witnessed her fair share of ups and downs in her career. Though she didn’t belong to a film family, she did come from a privileged side with her grandfather being a barrister. Early on, she was also judged for travelling in her Mercedes, wearing luxury jewellery and more.

When asked if a male star would have been judged the same way she was, Ameesha Patel told Bollywood Hungama, “I wouldn’t have and if I belonged to a film family and I came in Mercedes and my hero was in Maruti 1000, I wouldn’t have been judged. In fact, for Gadar, when I walked into Anil Sharma’s office, he to date tells everybody ‘You know, I never thought she’d work hard. She’d arrive in Mercedes, wear designer clothes, and don big solitaries Rs. 1-2 crore worth on her hands. I wondered if she’d work hard at all. She doesn’t have fire in her. I was surprised she used to work harder than me.’ We make the mistake of judging a book by its cover and we shouldn’t do that. This industry definitely does that a lot and that’s sad.”

Ameesha Patel is now gearing up for the release of Gadar 2, a sequel to Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Produced by Zee Studios and helmed by Director-Producer Anil Sharma, the movie stars Sunny Deol, and Utkarsh Sharma. The movie is slated to release in cinemas on 11th August 2023.
