Emraan Hashmi, once known as Bollywood's "serial kisser," recently addressed his evolution on filming kissing scenes. During a candid fan interaction on Bollywood Hungama's Hangout, the actor shed light on why he's become more selective with such scenes.

When we directly asked about his shift in onscreen smooches, Hashmi quipped with a smile, "It's actually not an internal voice. That's the voice of my wife. I'm so happy you asked this first, gets the elephant out of the room!"

When pressed about actors requesting kissing scenes, Hashmi, with a playful nod to his wife watching, humorously dodged a fully truthful answer. However, he offered a more sincere perspective: "From the beginning, I've always wanted to tone it down. It became a staple thing to please the audience and producers capitalized on it. Sometimes it was staple sometimes really funny. Now, when I watch my own films, I honestly feel they weren't necessary."

Speaking of his upcoming web show, produced by Dharmatic Entertainment and helmed by showrunner Mihir Desai, Showtime promises a thrilling exploration of the film industry's underbelly. The star-studded cast also includes Rajeev Khandelwal, Shriya Saran, and the legendary Naseeruddin Shah. Readers may recall that Bollywood Hungama had reported that the show is about nepotism in the Hindi film industry.

The announcement of Showtime took place last year in September. At that time, Karan Johar had mentioned in the official press release that the show will "lift the curtain on India entertainment’s industry’s biggest trade secrets."
