Megastar Amitabh Bachchan turned 80 today, on October 11. The veteran actor is widely known for his stellar performance in various films. From romantic to comedy to suspense thrillers, there is hardly any genre which he has not explored or not excelled at for that matter.

In one of the exclusive conversations with Bollywood Hungama, acclaimed director Sujoy Ghosh recalled how people went frenzy over getting a middle-parting, including him, after the release of Amitabh Bachchan starrer Muqaddar Ka Sikandar.

"I remember seeing Muqaddar Ka Sikandar and getting a middle parting. Not just me, everybody around that area, everybody in Calcutta [Kolkata]. I think most of India and rest of the world. Everybody went and got a middle parting. It’s still like that only.” Amitabh then jokingly added, “Do you have any intention of making another movie with me?” to which Sujoy answered, “Yes sir.”

“You’re not going to get it.” Amitabh then replied. “How can you talk like this. Huh, rubbish.” Sujoy then continued, “And then they used to get these tongs and they used to do these roundy-roundy things and put their hair on top. Superb that was.”

Meanwhile, a film festival named ‘Bachchan Back To The Beginning’ is currently happening at PVR Cinemas. It is organized by the Film Heritage Foundation from October 8 to 11 in 17 cities. As part of this film festival, classic films of Amitabh Bachchan like Don, Kaala Patthar, Kaalia, Kabhie Kabhie, Amar Akbar Anthony etc. are being screened on the big screen.

While tickets on October 8, 9 and 10 are available for Rs. 150, on the 11th – i.e. today – the tickets are being sold for just Rs. 80.
