Vadh 2, the spiritual sequel to the acclaimed 2022 drama Vadh, made a powerful impression at its world premiere at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025. Headlined by Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta, the film screened to a packed auditorium, drawing sustained applause and strong audience reactions — a reception that has further boosted anticipation ahead of its 2026 theatrical release.
In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, director Jaspal Singh Sandhu expressed gratitude for the response the film received at its festival showcase. “This IFFI premiere has been a deeply positive experience for the entire team of Vadh 2. The warmth and enthusiasm from the audience have been incredibly encouraging. We can’t wait to share the film with audiences in cinemas on 6th February 2026,” he said.
Producer Ankur Garg, also speaking exclusively to Bollywood Hungama, noted that the expectations surrounding the sequel have grown with time. “Audiences have given a lot of love to Vadh over the years, creating high expectations for Vadh 2. The positive response at IFFI has strengthened our conviction in telling powerful, meaningful stories through the Vadh franchise,” he shared.
Positioned as a spiritual successor rather than a continuation, Vadh 2 introduces an entirely new story and fresh characters while retaining the emotional intensity that defined the original. Its selection in the Gala Premiere Section at IFFI provided international festival attendees an early glimpse into its world, once again spotlighting Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta’s craft and screen command.
A Luv Films presentation, Vadh 2 is written and directed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu and produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg. The film is set to release in theatres on February 6, 2026.
