Deepak Tijori talks about Aashiqui being his personal favourite album.

In the 1990s, Deepak Tijori became incredibly well-known for his acting abilities. He changed careers in the early 2000s, becoming a director, and quickly started being picky about his acting roles. Yet in 2023, he planed on returning to acting while also skillfully juggling his directing commitments. Deepak Tijori's first significant role came when Mahesh Bhatt casted him to play the role of protagonist's friend in his romantic drama Aashiqui in 1990. The film was a commercial success.

In an exclusive video interview with Bollywood Hungama when Deepak Tijori was asked his personal favourite album, he replied, “Aashiqui of course undoubtedly because I think that music probably, I can say is something which is legendary. I think the amount of not just me fascinating it, but we were called in Indian Idol because the most record-breaking audio ever in the history of Indian cinema has been Aashiqui and it still holds it apparently. Which is the reason why I think Indian Idol celebrated, Aashiqui 30 years. So, I feel very honored about it.”


Mahesh Bhatt's 1990 Indian Hindi musical love drama film Aashiqui, the first in the Aashiqui series, featured Rahul Roy, Anu Aggarwal, and Deepak Tijori in significant parts. With the help of composers Nadeem-Shravan (Nadeem Akhtar Saifi and Shravan Kumar Rathod), vocalist Kumar Sanu, and music company T-Series, the movie became known for its album.

Tijori produced and played his only lead role in Gowariker-directed murder mystery Pehla Nasha in 1993, alongside Pooja Bhatt and Raveena Tandon. Upon release, the film received poor reviews and failed at the box office. Later, Tijori made his directorial debut in 2003, with an adult film about male strippers Oops! He was also credited as the producer and the writer.

Deepak has worked in films like Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa among others. He will be next seen in Tipppsy and Ittar.
