Over the years, music composers Salim-Sulaiman have managed to become one of the most revered names in the Hindi film music. From Chak De! India, Fashion to Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Band Baaja Baaraat and much more, the Merchant brothers have come a long way creating smash hit music albums for numerous Bollywood films; for decades now.

In an exclusive music room interview with Bollywood Hungama, while sharing the interesting behind-the-scenes stories of how they created their chartbuster music scores, the musical duo went on to talk about that one song of theirs that has helped people and students through tough times. “Ye Hausla [from 2006 film Dor] is my favorite song from our compositions,” Salim shared during the conversation.

Further talking about how Ye Hausla has impacted and helped so many people around the globe, and especially students, in their tough times, Sulaiman shared, “There have been a lot of people who have told us that when they’re studying, or they’re stuck; there are a lot of people outside India who tell us that ‘We were stuck in trouble times and this song gave use motivation and hope.”

“Exams, students, people who are struggling with different problems and even patients,” Salim added. “A lot of people who have some terminal diseases, they listen to the song. We actually get emails and messages on social media that this song has helped me go through this illness.”
