EXCLUSIVE: “After Baazaar I felt I was starting again from zero, it’s been a tough journey after that,” reveals Rohan Vinod Mehra : Bollywood News

Rohan Vinod Mehra is currently gaining praises for his role in the Disney+ Hotstar show Kaala, which is directed by Bejoy Nambiar. The actor made his big screen debut in 2018 with Baazaar, along with Saif Ali Khan, Radhika Apte and Chitrangda Singh. But despite bagging a mainstream film for his debut and being the son of an iconic star Vinod Mehra, Rohan has had a difficult time after his first film.

In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, he said, “After Baazaar, I felt I was starting again from zero, despite the fact that the film was good and I received praise for the film. It’s been a tough journey after that. It is a very tough industry. There is a lot of competition.”

On what he did after Baazaar, Rohan said, “I went back to auditioning. I went back to meeting people. So there was that whole struggle involved. So it wasn’t that I was being selective. It was just that the opportunities weren’t coming to me.”

Rohan believes that although today there are more opportunities with the OTT medium, it has its share of challenges too. “Now more so with OTT and everything, there are a lot of chances but there are a lot of new actors that are coming in which, you know, keeps everyone on their toes to be the best they possibly can,” he said.

Rohan also revealed that there has been a wrong perception about him in the industry. “There is a strong perception that I don’t want to work more and that I am very selective. But it’s not that at all. In fact, if I have the chance, I will work every day of my life,” he said.
