EXCLUSIVE: Aaliyah Qureishi speaks about Shah Rukh Khan and Vijay Sethupathi’s camaraderie in Jawan; reveals the Tamil actor had acting coach on set: “He’s always trying to improve his craft”

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan and the team of Jawan are blissfully enjoying the blockbuster success of their film which has collected Rs. 369.43 crore in just seven days of its release and continues to obliterate the box office. The film, helmed by Atlee Kumar, stars Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara in pivotal roles along with a special appearance from Deepika Padukone. While the movie is garnering appreciation from all corners for its mass mania, the young women of Team Azad are also receiving much love for their roles. Amongst them is Aaliyah Qureishi, who played the role of Jhalli in the movie, and is a super fan of Sethupathi.

Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Aaliyah said, “I love Vijay sir. I will fight to death anyone who says anything even slightly bad about him.”

She mentioned that she had watched his films like Super Deluxe and called him “a humble person”. She added, “When you speak to him, you won’t feel like you are talking to a brilliant actor or star. He is just nice, calm and on his own. He doesn’t have anything flashy,” she added.

She also revealed that Sethupathi would also have an acting coach on set. Aaliyah said, “Sometimes, he would have an acting coach with him on the set, just to bounce ideas off on how to do a scene slightly different or to find if there’s any inflexion he could change. So, he’s always trying to improve his craft even though he’s at the top.”

Speaking of watching the camaraderie between Shah Rukh Khan and Vijay Sethupathi, she said, “While Shah Rukh sir is all about charisma and style, Vijay is more about improvisation where he would just say something funny out of the blue.”

The movie also stars Sunil Grover, Ridhi Dogra, Sanya Malhotra, Mukesh Chhabra, Girija Oak Godbole, Aaliyah Qureishi, Ashlesha Thakur, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, and Lehar Khan.

Jawan is a Red Chillies Entertainment presentation directed by Atlee, produced by Gauri Khan, and co-produced by Gaurav Verma. The film released on September 7, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
