Shashank Ghosh’s Veere Di Wedding is on course with Kareena Kapoor back in the groove post Taimur while Sonam Kapoor is basking in the glory of a National Award win for Neerja. In an exclusive conversation with Faridoon Shahryar, producer Rhea Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor shared their excitement for the film.
Rhea Kapoor: “Yes of course I am looking forward to the film; it’s a really special film for both of us. Especially for me because you’ll (Sonam Kapoor) have come of age. I mean Sonam has done grown up films. She has done Neerja. She has evolved. But with me, I have grown with my movies. My first movie was when I was 21 years old. Then I made my next movie when I was 25. And I was 28-29 when I started developing Veere Di Wedding. I finally have the confidence to really start speaking about things that I care about things that matter to me. And Sonam has had that confidence for quite a while. And Veere Di Wedding is a very funny cool film, but there is a lot of soul in that film. So it’s a really special film. It’s the first of its kind. And I can’t wait for people to see it. I am excited to have to actresses like Sonam and Kareena in it. The reason both agreed to do this film is because we have both done things first. Kareena has done so many things that nobody else has done before, same with Sonam. And if you look at Sonam and Bebo they both have nothing in common, but they have one thread between them that they are both brave. And this movie is for brave girls. And for me it’s really special to have two people like that believe in my film. So yes I am very excited about it, can’t wait for it to release. They are like my 2 babies (Veere Di Wedding and Rheason).”
Sonam Kapoor: “I am most excited about Veere Di Wedding. I am excited to do something that has never been done before.”
