Esha Deol and her ex-husband, Bharat Takhtani, announced their divorce in 2024 after 11 years of marriage. Despite their separation, they continue to co-parent their daughters, Radhya and Miraya. Recently, Esha shared a heartfelt piece of advice from her mother, veteran actress Hema Malini, about never giving up on love.

In an interview with The Quint, Esha Deol shared the values she has inherited from her mother, Hema Malini. She revealed that, like any mother, Hema always emphasized the importance of maintaining a self-identity, even after marriage.

She said, “And she always told me you have worked hard and made a name, and you have a profession. Even if you have not made a name, you have a profession; that’s your thing. Never stop that. Try and continue working.”

Esha further emphasized her mother’s advice on financial independence, stating that a woman should always have her own earnings, regardless of whether she is married to a millionaire. She explained that being financially independent sets a woman apart. Additionally, the Tumko Meri Kasam actress shared another valuable lesson she has taken to heart.

She added, “One more very sweet thing she has told me is we do so many things in life – working, self-care, everything. She said one thing which is very important in life and should never die out is romance. She said that is something that just gives you those butterflies in your stomach, it’s that feeling, we all want it. I have that advice in my head, but I have not acted upon it yet.”

Speculation about Esha and Bharat’s separation began when he was absent from her birthday celebration on November 2, 2023, as well as Hema Malini’s 75th birthday bash on October 16, 2023. The couple later confirmed their divorce through an official statement in 2024.

On the work front, Esha Deol is making her comeback after 14 years with Tumko Meri Kasam, directed by Vikram Bhatt. The film, also starring Adah Sharma, Anupam Kher, and Ishwak Singh, is set to release this Friday, March 21, 2025.
