Television actress Divyanka Tripathi is known for her strong and independent personality. But even she had a tough time dealing with her break-up with actor Sharad Malhotra. In a recent interview, Divyanka opened up about how she coped with the breakup.
Divyanka and Sharad met on the sets of the TV show Banoo Main Teri Dulhann and were in a relationship for eight years. However, their relationship ended in 2015. Divyanka said that she was devastated by the breakup and that she didn't know how to deal with it.
In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Divyanka recalled, “My mother was living with me at that time when I had a fracture and I was working on Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. I was working every day, along with many other assignments. I had taken on a lot of work because I wanted to keep myself distracted. But my mother made me realise that I need to love myself and that was an alien concept for me.”
Divyanka's mother helped her to deal with the breakup. She told Divyanka that she needed to love herself and that she didn't need to find love outside of herself.
"I was on a wheelchair at the time and me and my mother both went to a jewellery store and bought an engagement ring myself, I got engaged to myself," Divyanka said.
Divyanka also revealed that she would have adopted a baby for love and companionship and that she didn't care if it came from a partner or a child. "If I wouldn't have found Vivek at the time, I would have adopted a baby because I wanted love and a companion. And it's not important for companionship to be of one type," she said.
Divyanka is now happily married to actor Vivek Dahiya. They met on the sets of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and started dating. They got married in 2016.
