Actor Dipika Kakar, who has been away from the public eye following a major health scare, made her first appearance in a vlog shared by her husband Shoaib Ibrahim on Monday. The video marked the first time the Sasural Simar Ka actress spoke about her condition since undergoing surgery last month.

Dipika expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support she received from fans, hospital staff, and strangers alike. “Bas iss waqt itna hi bolungi — aap logon ne bohot duaein ki hain, uske liye dil se thank you,” she said. “Hospital mein bhi staff, nurses, alag-alag jagahon se aake bol rahe the, 'Ma'am, aap theek ho jaoge.' Dusre patients ke relatives bhi bol rahe the, 'Hum aapke liye pray kar rahe the.' Unke apne bachhe, father hain, lekin phir bhi woh mere liye dua kar rahe the. Yeh saari cheezein bohot maayne rakhti hain (All I will say for now is – thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the prayers. Even in the hospital, staff, nurses, and people from different places came up and said, ‘Ma’am, you will be fine.’ Other patients’ relatives also said, ‘We were praying for you.’ Despite having their own family members in the hospital, they were praying for me. These things mean a lot).”

The actress confirmed that her recovery is going well and added that she is feeling much better now. She signed off the video by assuring her followers that she will reconnect with them soon once she regains her strength.

In the same vlog, Shoaib Ibrahim provided a health update, explaining that Dipika had undergone surgery during which her tumour was successfully removed. Along with it, her gall bladder was also taken out due to a stone. A small portion of her liver, which had the tumour, was also removed. However, he assured viewers that there is no cause for concern as the liver has the ability to regenerate itself.

Earlier, Dipika had also shared a brief note on Instagram revealing that the last few weeks had been extremely difficult. What began as abdominal pain led to the discovery of a tumour in the liver, which was later confirmed to be second-stage malignant.

The couple’s candid communication has been met with support and well-wishes from fans across the country.
