Actor Dino Morea lauded Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna for the strong impact of their recent performances, attributing their widespread popularity to the expanded reach of the digital era. Reflecting on his own journey, Morea noted that films like Raaz and Aksar continued to resonate with audiences even today and said they would have achieved even greater visibility in the current digital landscape.
Following the release of Dhurandhar, Akshaye Khanna emerged as an internet sensation. A similar wave of excitement had been seen earlier when Bobby Deol appeared in Animal, with his entry song ‘Jamal Kudu’ and signature hook step going viral. This time, it was Akshaye’s entry song ‘FA9LA’ and his steps that caught the internet’s attention. As appreciation poured in for Akshaye, Dino Morea also joined in praising the actor’s work. Dino, known for films such as Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi and Raaz, was most recently seen in the series The Royals.
Speaking about the renewed popularity of Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna, Dino praised both actors for leaving a powerful impression with their performances while highlighting how the digital age had significantly widened an actor’s reach. Looking back at his own career, he spoke about the lasting impact of Raaz and Aksar and shared that audiences continued to associate him with those successes even years later. In an interview with IANS, Dino said, “The way Bobby has got his chance to shine in ‘Animal’ and Akshaye has got his chance to shine, especially in Dhurandhar more than Chhaava, is incredible.”
He went on to explain how the industry functioned very differently during his peak years, adding, “When I had Raaz as a success or Aksar as a success, there was really no social media, right? So, people saw the movies and still remember me from then.” Recalling the reach of Raaz, Dino mentioned that the film travelled “from villages to top-tier cities,” and that audience feedback came directly from people who watched the movie in theatres.
Drawing a comparison with the present scenario, he noted, “Today, people don’t see a film, but they are all over the internet. And that spread is faster and wider.” Reflecting further on how fame worked today, Dino said, “If I had to do something like Akshay or Bobby did today in a certain role, I think that would spread really fast through the internet. And I would probably have the same craze that they are having today. And I feel fantastic for both of them because they are brilliant.”
He concluded by stating that the recognition Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna were currently enjoying was completely deserved and a true testament to their talent.
