Bollywood stars are finding a great way to escape the monsoon season. They have planned their holidays and overseas shoots in and around this season and other than the ones whose films are slated for release soon, majority are currently abroad and happily partying.
“There is no point being in Mumbai when you can’t shoot. Most of the filmmakers are wary of putting up any sets during this time due to fear of damage from rains. This results in a break time for most stars”, says a veteran production controller.
As a result as many as couple of dozen top actors who feature in Housefull 2, including Akshay Kumar, Asin, Riteish Deshmukh etc. are currently combining business with pleasure in London.
“The city has turned into mini-Bollywood as Saif and Deepika are also shooting for Cocktail there”, informs a unit member, “Long breaks allow them to have all the fun in a foreign location.”
Mahie Gill too is abroad for her Not A Love Story. Ditto for Vikram Bhatt who would return from USA in July and begin work on his Karisma Kapoor starrer after a well deserved break. On the other hand, Shirish Kunder has just returned from Los Angeles after a quick personal trip. Recently, Deepika Padukone too took a trip to Bali with Sidhartha Mallya for his sister’s wedding celebrations.
“Many are also flying off from their shooting locations for other engagements”, says a source, “Riteish excused himself for a few days from the Housefull 2 shoot and was in Canada to host IIFA awards. His Double Dhamaal co-star Arshad Warsi too had taken off for a quick Canada sojourn.”
Last heard, even Saif and Kareena aren’t far behind. They are now planning a trip to Paris. This will also act as a silencer for all who were doubting cracks in their relationship. “All is well, we would be taking a break from work very soon”, he says.
As for the Bachchans, they can be well expected to have planned it all out for a quiet outing, now that stork is visiting them soon. Guess that’s the least Ash can demand for herself.
