Prime Video’s upcoming web-series Big Girls Don’t Cry has been receiving tremendous love and appreciation from the industry with celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif, Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, and many more reviewing the show. The show focuses on the journey of teenage girls, as it explores sisterhood, friendships, independence, rebellion, love, heartbreaks, and dreams through the eyes of the young.
These popular actors took to their respective social media handles to wish luck to the team and appreciated the cast. Deepika Padukone shared the promo of the series and said, “All the Very Best My Lovelies” on her Instagram story. Following a similar path was her husband Ranveer Singh who added, “Sisterhood, soulmates and so many surprises - school is in session” and concluded the statement with a butterfly emoji. Katrina Kaif also reposted Singh’s statement about sisterhood and added, “Cant wait for this....”
Anurag Kashyap dropped a story adding, “This looks cool” whereas Karan Johar said, “Congratulations Nitya Mehra! This is terrific YA content! Excited to watch <3<3<3”.
Made In Heaven star Arjun Mathur also posted about the web-series with a message that read, “Some of my favourite people have created something beautiful…” Four More Shots fame Sayani Gupta went on to comment, “Looks so intriguing! Some darlings friends made this one! And Pooja Bhatt is too good in everything! Big hugs and cuddle babies!” The celebs also tagged the team of the show to send across their best wishes.
Big Girls Don’t Cry takes audiences into the fascinating world of the prestigious Vandana Valley, where a group of young girls navigate life's myriad exhilarating adventures as they challenge not only the norms of the school but society at large. And along the journey, each of them battles with an internal struggle to remain true to their own unique identities.
Premiering on March 14 on Prime Video, the series is created by Nitya Mehra and boasts a predominantly women-led cast including Avantika Vandanapu (Ludo), Aneet Padda (Roohi), Dalai (Pluggy), Vidushi (Kavya), Lhakyila (JC), Afrah Sayed (Noor), and Akshita Sood (Dia) in lead roles, along with Pooja Bhatt, Raima Sen, Zoya Hussain, and Mukul Chadda.
