One of the most eagerly anticipated films of the year, Mani Ratnam's Raavan, is just a few weeks away from release. The music by A.R.Rahman has already become a rage and the promos of have created tremendous buzz. Yes... come June 18, and viewers can get a chance to experience the world of Raavan.

While the film primarily revolves around Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and South superstar Vikram, there are also a host of prominent stars such as Govinda, Ravi Kishan, Priyamani and Nikhil Dwivedi who feature in important roles. While Govinda's character is similar to that of Hanuman in this modern-day interpretation of Ramayan, Nikhil Dwivedi happens to play Vikram's brother and Ash's brother in law in this film. So it may not be wrong to say that he would have taken some reference points from Lakshman's character in Ramayan.

However, how similar these characters are to the ones made immortal in the mythological drama is something which we will know only on June 18.
