After starring in a variety of roles last year, Alia Bhatt is all set to play a strong female protagonist in Meghna Gulzar’s unconventional film Raazi. The film is based on the novel ‘Calling Sehmat’ and the film has gone on floors.

On Tuesday morning, co-producer Karan Johar shared a photograph of the clapboard and announced that the shooting has finally begun. He wrote, "The journey of #RAAZI begins today!!! All the best to all of us!! @meghnagulzar @DharmaMovies @JungleePictures @aliaa08 @vickykaushal09."

We had earlier reported that as Alia Bhatt will be seen as Kashmiri spy, the film was supposed to be shot in the valleys of Kashmir. As the makers could not get necessary permission, they have now recreated the valley at a suburban studio in Mumbai. A large set has been erected in Film City where most of the indoor sequences will be shot.

Co-produced by Dharma Productions and Junglee Pictures, Raazi stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in the leading roles. It is helmed by Meghna Gulzar.
