Check out: Anil Kapoor shines in the first look of Fanney Khan

Earlier, we had reported that Anil Kapoor had signed filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's next project titled Fanney Khan that was the Hindi remake of the Oscar-nominated Dutch film Everybody's Famous(2000).

Anil Kapoor, who has already started shooting for the film, unveiled the first look of his character with the caption that read, "This #Eid, we begin a new transformation...#FanneyKhan & I embark on an exciting journey today! @RakeyshOmMehra".

Dressed up in a golden glittery suit, Anil Kapoor is seen holding a mic in first look. The film Fanney Khan will mark the debut of Atul Manjrekar as a director. The film will present a story of a father who tries to impose his dreams of becoming a singer on his daughter and the 17-year-old girl whose repeated attempts at singing contests only lead to failure.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Anil Kapoor go back a long way. The filmmaker had worked with Sonam Kapoor in Delhi 6 and is also launching Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan Kapoor this year in Mirzya.

Meanwhile, Anil Kapoor is gearing up for the second season of his television series, 24.
