Veteran singer Asha Bhosle turned 86 on Sunday. The singer received love and wishes from her fans and well-wishers from the industry. Among her well-wishers was Canadian PM Justin Trudeau who wished the singer on her birthday.

Sharing the message by Trudeau, Asha Bhosle tweeted, “On my 86th birthday, I feel happy that my achievements have put India on the world music map where world leaders acknowledge my presence. Thank you to PM Trudeau of Canada.”

The message from Justin Trudeau read: "It is a great pleasure to send you best wishes and warmest congratulations on the occasion of your eighty-fifth birthday.”

Asha Bhosle started her career in the year 1943. With a career spanning over six decades, the 86-year-old has given her fans several hit songs like Raat Akeli Hai, Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko, Dum Maro Dum, In Aankhon Ki Masti and Zara Sa Jhoom Loon Main among several others.

She is also a recipient of the highest civilian awards in India, including the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the Padma Vibhushan. In 2011, she was officially acknowledged by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most recorded artist in music history.
