South Korean juggernaut BTS had a celebratory feast to commemorate the arrival of their new Spotify plaque, for reaching one billion streams of their smash hit ‘Dynamite’ on the music platform.
Last July, BTS’ first-ever English single ‘Dynamite’ surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, making it the first song by a Korean artist ever to reach the milestone on the streaming platform. The song even earned them their first-ever Grammy nomination.
On March 15, the septet shared a cheeky video of their celebration after receiving an official plaque from Spotify commemorating the song’s achievement. In the short clip, the group shared a traditional bowl of Bibimbap, topped with scrambled egg-shaped like the BTS logo, from the middle of the plaque.
Other artists who have also eaten celebratory meals off of their plaque include Drake (‘In My Feelings’), Halsey (‘Without Me’ and ‘Closer’) and Joe Jonas (DNCE’s ‘Cake by the Ocean’).
The global band recently wrapped up their 3-day concert titled ‘BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - SEOUL’ in Seoul. BTS will be jetting off for their Las Vegas concert ‘BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - LAS VEGAS’ which will be held on April 8, 9, 15, and 16. The in-person live broadcast event ‘LIVE PLAY in LAS VEGAS’ will be available at MGM Grand Garden Arena on all four days. There will also be an online live stream on the last day on April 16.
