Boney Kapoor sets the record straight; reveals Janhvi Kapoor was born post marriage with Sridevi : Bollywood News

In a candid conversation with New Indian, renowned producer Boney Kapoor shed light on his marriage with the late legendary actress Sridevi, which took place in 1996. Boney Kapoor, who was previously married to Mona Shourie Kapoor, reminisced about his second marriage to Sridevi, offering intriguing insights.

He shared, “My second marriage, my marriage with Sri (took place in Shirdi). We got married on June 2.” Kapoor went on to address persistent rumours that have suggested that their daughter, Janhvi Kapoor, was born before their official marriage. He clarified, “We exchanged vows, we spent a night there and it was only in January when her pregnancy was seen that we had no choice, but to marry publicly. It took place in Shirdi, on June 2. (But), in public, we were married only in January (1997). That is why some scribes still write she (Janhvi) was born before marriage, something like that.”

During the interview, Boney Kapoor also discussed the untimely and tragic passing of Sridevi. He emphasized, “It was not a natural death; it was an accidental death. I had decided not to speak about it because I spoke about it for almost 24 or 48 hours together when I was being investigated and interrogated. In fact, the officers said we had to go through this because there was a lot of pressure from Indian media. And they discovered there was no foul play. I went through all the tests, including lie detector tests and all those things. And then, of course, the report which came, clearly stated it was accidental.”

Following their nuptials in the year 1996, Boney Kapoor and Sridevi were blessed with the joy of parenthood, welcoming two daughters into their lives, Janhvi and Khushi. Notably, Boney had previously been married to Sunita, from which he had two children, Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor. However, a tragic turn of events unfolded in February 2018 when the beloved actress Sridevi met an untimely and shocking demise. The incident occurred as she tragically drowned in the bathtub of a Dubai hotel while attending a family wedding, sending shockwaves through the entertainment industry, and leaving fans and admirers in deep mourning.
