Bollywood stands in support of World Thalassemia Day by posting selfies of half of their faces

Yesterday it was World Thalassemia Day to spread awareness about this less-talked-about yet critical disease. A lot of people tend to ignore this blood related disease an unimportant but they don’t realise just how serious it is. Celebs like Abhishek Bachchan, Sonakshi Sinha, Rajkummar Rao and many others took to their Instagram to share pictures of half of their faces to raise awareness about it. While they shared their pictures, they nominated a minimum of 3 other Bollywood celebs to do the same.

When they posted their pictures, they made sure to upload it with the caption, “Did you know that when both, husband and wife, have Thalassemia Minor, there is a 25% chance that their child will have Thalassemia Major and will usually not live beyond 30 years?
