The Bollywood Hungama Style Icons Summit and Awards 2024 began with a bang earlier today with the panel discussion on ‘Social Media And Style Trends: Unraveling The Insta Effect’. It was graced by Ridhima Pandit, Anushka Sen and Avika Gor. The gorgeous actresses talked about style, fashion and at an important juncture, they opened up on trolling.
Ridhima Pandit said, “Agar main ek picture daal rahi hoon, toh maine woh picture soch samaj ke daala hai to the point that I know that I am not looking like the way I am looking right now or how they are used to seeing me in a glamorous avatar. So, I feel that as an actor, be ready for the love and brickbats as well. I am not being very pricey but I genuinely don’t read comments. And I do read, I feel the need to reply, not just the good ones or the bad ones also. A lot of times, my managers are like ‘Please stay away from getting back at trolls’. But there’s a bone in me that just gets awakened. I am like, ‘Kya bola, kyun bola, kisne bola’!”
Ridhima added, “However, when it comes to my appearance, it doesn’t affect me as much. I am very confident in my skin. On my stories, I like to put up candid content, jitna ho sake. The more you keep it real, the more there’s relatabity for you’re audience.”
Avika Gor shared her mantra for trolling: “Seedha delete and block! You don’t need negativity in your life. There’s enough drama anyway. I don’t need to give importance to a random man who is lying down his bed, scrolling through profiles and making comments. So, a lot of people are restricted from my profile (laughs)!”
Anushka Sen opined, “I feel pity. I really feel bad for them. They feel ki do comment karke mujhe bura lagega. But look at millions of people who are giving so much love. More than love, they are trying to support you. I am happy, my family is happy, my stylist is happy. Those (trolls) don’t even matter from a bigger perspective.”
Ridhima Pandit quipped, “We are also making money (through our posts)!”
Anushka continued, “So, I really hope they get a life and be happy with it.”
