Bhansali relives Bhuleshwar memories with Ranveer

en Bollywood News Bhansali relives Bhuleshwar memories with Ranveer

Exquisite sets, lyrical visuals, every frame being shot as a painting in motion, all actors bringing on those timeless pauses on screen - This is the kind of template that Sanjay Leela Bhansali films are set in, especially when it comes to the songs. However for Ram Leela, he has turned the template on his head, what with 'Tattad Tattad' bringing a 'rowdy' and 'raapchik' side of his.

Bhansali relives Bhuleshwar memories with Ranveer

"The song is full-on masala stuff and Bhansali has totally let himself loose here. If Akshay Kumar went aggressive in Rowdy Rathore, you have to see what Ranveer has done in Ram Leela. Though Ram Leela has quite a few songs with quintessential Sanjay Leela Bhansali 'touch' (more so since he is also the composer for the soundtrack), 'Tattad Tattad' is something that you can't really associate with the filmmaker. It is as vivacious, fast paced and 'dhamaal' as it gets," comments an observer.

Apparently, considering his Bhuleshwar (South Mumbai) roots, Bhansali always had an inclination towards quintessential 'masala' flavour of Bollywood. However once he picturised songs of 1942 - A Love Story for Vidhu Vinod Chopra, there was a definite image that got connected to his name. Softer themes and presentation were in and the fun side of Bhansali was never really explored.

"The turnaround came with last year's Rowdy Rathore where Prabhu Dheva revived the kind of flavour that Bhansali wanted in his brand of films as well," says a source, "There has been no looking back ever since then. Yes, there are some tender sweet moments between Ranveer and Deepika but given the kind of characterization and setting that Ram Leela boasts of, the overall narrative is definitely not subtle."

As for Ranveer, he has moved on from the subtle world of Lootera and has taken much greater strides when compared to his debut flick Band Baaja Baaraat.

Says Ranveer, "Mr. Bhansali has spent a significant part of his childhood in Bhuleshwar. He is actually 'rapchik' to the core. 'Masala' runs through his veins. I feel like he was waiting for years to let loose in this fashion. And of course, no one shoots songs quite like him! All credit to him, our DOP Ravi Varman and our choreographer Ganesh Masterji to have created the desired results. I am thrilled with the kind of response that 'Tattad Tattad' is generating."

With Ranveer Singh's bare bodied act for most part of the song, guess women audiences too have been kept interested in proceedings on screen.
