Writer Rishi Virmani has shared his appreciation for Aditya Dhar’s directorial Dhurandhar The Revenge, praising both its performances and its direction in a social media post that has drawn attention online.
Taking to his handle, the Chhaava writer posted a note highlighting the performances of several actors from the film. In the message, he wrote: “RANVEER IS ELECTRIFYING, AKSHAYE IS SUPREME, ARJUN RAMPAL AND SANJAY DUTT ARE PHENOMENAL. BUT THE BEST PART OF DHURANDHAR IS ADITYA DHAR REMINDING THE FILM INDUSTRY THAT THEY SHOULD LEAVE THE JOB OF MAKING A FILM TO THE DIRECTOR.”
Alongside the note, he added a caption that read, “writer बाप है, और director सबका दादा”.

Virmani’s remarks come at a time when Dhurandhar The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role, continues its strong theatrical run after releasing on March 19. The film has generated significant discussion across the industry and on social media, with several actors from different film industries sharing their reactions to the sequel.
Directed by Aditya Dhar and backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, the franchise also features Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi in key roles.
While the film has received praise from several members of the industry for its scale and performances, it has also sparked conversations in some quarters over aspects of its political references. Recently, actor Prakash Raj shared cryptic social media posts interpreted by many as criticism of the franchise, and singer Vishal Dadlani posted commentary related to the film’s references to demonetisation.
Set partly in Lyari in Karachi, the sequel explores covert intelligence operations against the backdrop of geopolitical tensions and follows the rise of Ranveer Singh’s character Hamza Ali Mazari while tracing his earlier identity as Jaskirat Singh Rangi.
