After earning accolades with his debut show Black Warrant, Zahan Kapoor has now impressed the audience with his latest outing Bandwaale. The young actor got talking about the show and more in an interview with us.
In your brief journey as an actor so far, are you content with the progress you have made?
I am quite content with the progress I’ve made yet. I just admit that the journey always seems to take more time than I’d have preferred. The more I do, the happier I am.
Tell me about your role in Bandwaale. Was it a tough decision to play such a dark tormented character?
Bandwaale came to me through a casting call in April 2022, and after 3/4 rounds, I was given the opportunity to join the team. I wanted to work and was hoping that I could find opportunities to do honest work, as simple as that. I was charmed by the approach the team had in mind and I am always keen to challenge myself to be able to explore such complexities.
Would you say your lineage is an advantage to your ambitions?
As for my lineage, I find it to be a huge advantage by way of having a supportive and understanding home, as well as being exposed to lots of art and culture from a young age. Beyond that, I was taught to earn my place, to stand on my own feet and make my own choices. And I hope my actions will speak more than anything else.
What are your memories of your grandfather?
I have many fond memories of my grandfather, as being just that, my grandfather, especially during childhood. I wish I could have shared my work with him too, but sadly that I can’t.
What next?
I’m working on an exciting feature film next, and hopefully it will hit theatres early next year.
