Ayushmann performed the reprise version of ‘Dil Waale Chor’ during the episode, which featured veteran actress Helen as the special guest. Before and after the performance, the actor opened up about the emotional significance of returning to the stage that had once denied him an opportunity years ago.

Sharing the extended performance clip on social media later, Ayushmann wrote, “This is the extended version of Dil Waale Chor (Reprise) which I performed at Indian Idol. The same stage which once rejected me during my struggling days. Surreal. Thanks for loving the song. Thanks for loving the film.”

The emotional honesty in his caption struck a chord with fans, many of whom praised the actor’s journey and perseverance. Social media users flooded the comments section with messages celebrating his rise from rejection to becoming one of the industry’s most versatile performers.

During the episode, Ayushmann’s soulful rendition of ‘Dil Waale Chor’ received a standing ovation from both the judges and the audience. Singer Shreya Ghoshal, who originally lent her voice to the film version of the song alongside Aditya Rikhari, was also seen enjoying the performance and applauding warmly throughout the act. The moment created a unique crossover between the original version and Ayushmann’s reprise, adding an emotional layer to the performance.

The song is featured in Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, a romantic comedy directed by Mudassar Aziz. Produced by T-Series Films and B. R. Studios, the film serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2019 release Pati Patni Aur Woh. The movie stars Ayushmann as the leading man alongside Wamiqa Gabbi, Sara Ali Khan, and Rakul Preet Singh in key roles.

Apart from balancing acting and music, Ayushmann also has an interesting lineup ahead. The actor is set to star in Yeh Prem Mol Liya opposite Sharvari, marking his first collaboration with filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya.
