Emraan Hashmi returns as Shivam Pandit, while details about Disha Patani’s character are still under wraps.

Disha Patani Says Yes to the Script Instantly
The casting team believed the role needed someone with Disha Patani’s presence—and the actress was reportedly moved by the emotional arc of the story during the initial narration. “Disha was bowled over by the script. She connected deeply with the emotional layers, and said yes immediately,” the source added.

Music to Play a Central Role in Awarapan 2
The music of the original Awarapan became one of its standout elements, and the team behind the sequel is aiming to create a similarly memorable soundtrack. Work on the film’s music has already begun, with conversations underway to possibly revive a few iconic melodies from the original. “Awarapan stands for strong music, and the sequel will carry that legacy with a wholesome romantic album,” the source revealed.

Awarapan 2 is scheduled to begin shooting by late September or early October 2025, with plans to wrap production by January 2026. The film is targeting a Summer 2026 theatrical release. Casting for other key roles is currently in progress.
