Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan, is poised to step into the director's chair with his debut project, a six-episode series titled Stardom. The series, which began production in July last year, promises to be a star-studded affair with cameo appearances from some of Bollywood's biggest names, including Shah Rukh Khan himself, along with Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar, and Bobby Deol. Headlining the series is Lakshya Lalwani, who is set to portray a central role in this fictionalized narrative offering viewers a glimpse into the inner workings of the Hindi film industry. Along with his industry ambitions, the star kid also debuted as a director for an ad campaign for his luxury streetwear brand D’yavol X which featured his superstar father Shah Rukh Khan.
In a recent interview with GQ India, Aryan Khan talked about experiencing his father's work ethic firsthand. “It’s always a pleasure and a learning experience. People talk about his work ethic, but experiencing it first-hand was really exciting. He has a wealth of knowledge, which makes my job easier,” he said.
Talking about his brand, Aryan said that Shah Rukh Khan brings sanity and maturity to his edgy brand. He said, “Some things that would take me some time to wrap my head around were seamless for him. Our brand is edgy, so he’s around to keep some semblance of sanity and respectability, otherwise, there could be too much madness. Because we are an age-agnostic brand, I think we have an interesting balance: I have a more contemporary way of thinking; my father brings a dose of maturity into it. Having perspectives from both ends allows the brand to align with our collective vision as well, which is to appeal and cater to everyone, from a 10-year-old to a 70-year-old.”
Meanwhile, Aryan Khan is all set to debut as a director in Stardom, produced by Red Chillies Entertainment.
