Amazon Prime Video’s popular series Four More Shots Please! has returned with its fourth and final season, and this time, it brings a new creative vision to the forefront. National Award–winning filmmaker Arunima Sharma has come on board as the Lead Director for Season 4, marking a significant new chapter for the much-loved show. Starring Kirti Kulhari, Sayani Gupta, Manvi Gagroo and Bani J, the final season premiered today.
Arunima Sharma’s entry promises to give an evolved tone for the series while remaining rooted in its emotional core, along with performance-driven storytelling and a more nuanced understanding of human relationships. The filmmaker has emphasised that Season 4 retains the soul of Four More Shots Please! but expands its emotional and visual canvas to reflect the journey of its four central characters.
Speaking about shaping the new season, Arunima said, “What I enjoy as a director is capturing the rawness, imperfect moments, the mess, the ugly tears, the crazy laughter, the ‘in-between’ moments and I’ve tried to capture them in an organic fluid shooting style. I wanted this season to have even more visual flair and scale… a joyous summer feel and a very fresh, 2026 look and feel.” She further added, “The girls have grown up since the last season—they’re a bit more mature, a bit more evolved and even more open to life. The visual and aural grammar needed to evolve with their growth.”
Renowned for extracting layered and naturalistic performances, Arunima adopted an actor-first approach on set, trusting the instinctive understanding the lead cast brings to their characters. “Kirti, Sayani, Maanvi and Bani have been living these characters for many years now… their understanding of the characters has become very organic and instinctive,” she shared. Elaborating on her process, Arunima explained, “I often like to use long takes—handheld camera or steadicam—really letting the actors move and be in that space. I’m drawn to things that don’t seem too perfect. Much like life… A big part of direction is knowing when not to direct.”
A distinctly female gaze anchors the final season, with friendship remaining at the heart of the narrative. “‘Deep abiding friendships are the place where many women know lasting love’ is a quote I relate to,” Arunima noted, adding, “FMSP has female friendship at its core… no wonder so many people love and relate to the story of our four women.”
With an acclaimed body of work that includes the National Award–winning FTII diploma film Shyam Raat Seher, long-form projects like Jee Karda, and over 150 high-profile ad films, Arunima Sharma brings both scale and sensitivity to the final outing of the series. As she summed it up, “This season has a whole plethora of moods and emotions that it traverses,” making Four More Shots Please! Season 4 a fitting and emotionally rich conclusion to the beloved Amazon Prime Video show.
